🦑 Leviathan News June SQUID-Drop is here! 🪂
Once per month, the monstrous and magickal Leviathan floats through town, dropping $SQUID on everybody who helps us build the world's preeminent decentralized news organization.
Key Updates
Adjustments to the SQUID algorithm allowed us to get our drop calculated much earlier this month! Less time between the prior newsletter and this one, but still lots of big wins in the short time:

Auction Results
Good growth in our auctions this month, as auctions got a bit more competitive and all metric ticked in the right direction. We attracted a new bidder, and overall bid volume ticked upwards from 56K to 189K, generating a 47K SQUID in proceeds for the treasury for the month (up 8%).
As of publication, June shows even better growth, but this is a subject for next month’s newsletter.
Congratulations to AIOZ for keeping auctions competitive, sweeping the field in May, and keeping the Squid Passes hilarious!

Development Notes
Successfully productizing the “SQUID Pass” has been a great exercise for Leviathan to beef up our click tracking and reporting. Over the past few months we finally implemented better analytics to track the source of traffic among our main channels, to better provide value to the winners of the SQUID Pass.
Our current short-term sprint is aimed at integrating better wallet data into these reports. We’ve got very good raw data, so we expect connecting this data could give Leviathan analytics a competitive advantage. This also dovetails nicely with other present dev work, including unglamorous work such as connecting wallet and Telegram user authentication, admin utilities to improve tagging, and piping more analytics into the newsroom points algorithm.

For this month, we also elected to give an auction rebate to recent auction bidders as thanks for your feedback on how to improve our platform.
As we get ever more felicity around this, we hope July could be the debut of the much anticipated dynamic article weighting, in which more SQUID is apportioned to articles certified as BANGERS.
We encourage you to register with our Telegram bot and type /regulate to toggle “regulator” mode and begin earning SQUID by helping us curate the news, or just typing /post to get paid for submitting headlines!
